Michael Lawrence

Michael Lawrence is a seasoned professional in the fields of Cloud, Data, Software, AI, and FinOps, currently serving as Co-Founder and Managing Director at cloudandthings.io since April 2023. Prior to this role, Lawrence held significant positions at MTN as Group General Manager: Cloud, where responsibilities included establishing the Cloud Centre of Excellence and leading the adoption of Cloud technologies. His experience at Capitec Bank encompassed multiple leadership roles in engineering and infrastructure, including the development of the bank's first Cloud Team. Lawrence's prior roles also include senior management at the University of Cape Town, and technical positions at Vodacom, BSG, and Cyberlogic. Michael Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Information Systems and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Information Systems, both from the University of Cape Town.
