Tomas Junnonen

Tomas Junnonen has over 20 years of work experience in software engineering and architecture. From 2001-2005, they were a Laboratory Engineer at the Turku Centre for Computer Science, where they designed and developed a public web site for searching academic publications, designed a bibliographic SQL database, and created a PDF rendering web service. From 2005-2011, they worked at Nokia, MeeGo Devices as a Senior Software Engineer and Senior Software Architect. As a Senior Software Engineer, they developed virtual input technologies for tablets and phones in C and C++, and contributed to upstream Open Source projects such as X.org, Qt and GTK+. As a Senior Software Architect, they were the technical team lead for the mobile app framework team of the MeeGo operating system, and was recognized with the “Young Leaders at Nokia” award by the CEO. From 2011-2015, they worked at HERE, North America as a Principal Software Architect. Tomas built and managed an agile development team of 8 software engineers, led the daily operations of delivering large scale cloud web services, designed the architecture for an OAuth2 cloud authentication and identity management platform on Amazon Web Services, and led the Scala & Java based backend service and native mobile SDK implementations. In 2015, they founded Cloudcraft.

Tomas Junnonen obtained their Master's Degree in Computer Science from Åbo Akademi University in 2008. In 2019, they also obtained an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
