Carol Pearson

Carol Pearson is an experienced software engineering leader currently serving as the Director of Software Engineering at Cloudera since October 2021. Previously, Carol held the position of Head of Database at Splice Machine from February 2019 to July 2021, managing a team responsible for a dual-OLTP and OLAP database engine with integrated machine learning and real-time AI capabilities. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Software Developer at Esgyn Corporation, where Carol significantly enhanced the scalability and availability of the EsgynDB database, and a lengthy tenure at Hewlett-Packard, fulfilling roles such as Server Side Architect and Project Manager for HP Data Services Manager, where Carol successfully drove cross-team projects and defined development methodologies. Carol holds a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
