Mark Samson

Mark Samson is an experienced professional in the field of solutions engineering, currently serving as Solutions Engineering Director for NEMEA at Cloudera since July 2013, overseeing teams across multiple regions including the UK, Benelux, Nordics, and Israel. Previously, Mark held the position of Sales Engineering Manager for the UK and Israel, where a team was expanded under their leadership. Starting their career at IBM in 1998, Mark progressed through various technical and management roles, including Big Data Software Technical Lead for Europe, where responsibilities involved leading a technical sales team and engaging in high-profile projects across diverse sectors. Mark's early roles included data architecture and DBA positions in organizations such as Yell and Visa Europe, complemented by a solid educational foundation with a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Nottingham.
