Jean-Daniel Cryans

Jean-Daniel Cryans is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in database engineering and management. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Cloudflare since September 2025, Jean-Daniel has held significant roles at various companies including as a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Elastic and Head of Database Engineering at Fauna Inc. Since July 2008, Jean-Daniel has contributed as an HBase committer and PMC member at the Apache Software Foundation. Prior experience includes positions such as Director of Engineering and Senior Engineering Manager at Cloudera, Database Engineer at StumbleUpon, and Software Developer at Cyberlogic.
