Jonathan Spies

Jonathan Spies has over 20 years of work experience in the technology industry. Jonathan currently holds the position of VP of Engineering at Cloudflare, where they have been working since 2018. Previously, they served as a Sr. Engineering Director and Engineering Director at the same company. Prior to Cloudflare, they co-founded and served as the Chief Architect and later the CTO at Bypass Mobile from 2010 to 2018. At Bypass Mobile, they were responsible for technology, architecture, product development, and engineering. Jonathan also managed the engineering, product management, and design teams, as well as technology partners and project timelines. Before that, they worked as a Software Engineer at EezyInc from 2009 to 2014 and as an Engineering and Product Lead at Upstream Communications from 2007 to 2010. Jonathan gained experience in web development and IT management as a Web Developer/IT Director at First Evangelical Free Church from 2002 to 2006. Jonathan Spies began their career as a Software Engineer at Audiogalaxy, where they developed new product features for frontend and backend systems specializing in peer-to-peer file sharing technology.

Jonathan Spies earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin between 1998 and 2002.
