Mingwei Zhang

Mingwei Zhang is an experienced technology professional with a strong background in network engineering and data science. Currently serving as a Senior Systems Engineer at Cloudflare since June 2022, Mingwei focuses on building systems and pipelines for monitoring BGP data. As the Founder of BGPKIT since October 2021, Mingwei has developed and maintains open-source tools for BGP monitoring. Previously, Mingwei worked as a Computational and Data Scientist at the Center for Applied Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA) from June 2018 to July 2021 and as a Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Oregon from June 2013 to June 2018, concentrating on network security issues such as inter-domain routing security and DDoS defense. Mingwei's career began with a Quality Assurance Internship at Red Hat in 2012. Mingwei holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor's degree in Networking Engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
