Piers Cornwell

Piers Cornwell has over 15 years of experience in site reliability engineering and Linux systems administration. At Cloudflare from December 2017 to December 2020, Piers served as Engineering Manager for the Edge Site Reliability Engineering team, overseeing platform reliability across global datacenters and delivering complex software engineering projects. Prior roles at Cloudflare included Tech Lead for Edge SRE and Site Reliability Engineer, where Piers focused on enhancing Edge platform solutions and team mentoring. Before Cloudflare, Piers worked at Rackspace for four years as Staff Linux Engineer, automating workflows with Ansible and shaping Linux policies. Earlier experience includes roles at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Imperial College London. Piers holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Sussex and a Certificate of Higher Education in Astronomy from University College London.
