Martin Sharkey

Martin Sharkey has a wealth of experience in technology, having worked in a variety of roles since 2011. In that year, they were Lead Architect & Design Authority at Atos, followed by Senior Technical Architect at Capgemini in 2012. From 2013 to 2016, they were Migration Lead, TDA & Enterprise Architect at the UK Home Office, and from 2016 to 2019 they were Chief Architect at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). In 2018, they were Interim Executive Chief Digital Architect at IBM Global Business Services and Principal Consultant Enterprise Migration Services at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In 2019, they were Interim Digital Head of Architecture at HM Revenue & Customs and, in 2020, Interim CTO & Head of Technology Office at Imperial College London. Most recently, Martin has been Co-founder, Chairman & CTO and Chief Information Technology Officer at CloudKubed since 2019.

Martin Sharkey's education history includes attending St Patricks and St Brigids College from 1988 to 1996. Martin has also obtained certifications from Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), CompTIA, and LeanIX. These include Azure Fundamentals (November 2020), AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (February 2018), CompTIA A+ Certification (March 2000), LeanIX Certified EA Associate and LeanIX Certified Enterprise Architecture Practitioner (October 2021), and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (May 2018).
