Josh Nevin

Josh Nevin is a Data Scientist at CloudNC since October 2022, with a foundational background in Electronic Engineering and Physics. As a PhD Candidate at the University of Cambridge from October 2018 to September 2022, Josh focused on knowledge-informed reinforcement learning to enhance optical communication network control, developing a simulator in Python. Previous experiences include contributing to the development of a high-temperature superconductor terahertz emitter during a Master's research project, and interning at The Alan Turing Institute and Ahren Innovation Capital, where engagement with cutting-edge machine learning and AI research occurred. Additional roles include work at Lumi Space, the British Antarctic Survey, and the University of Southampton, where software and analytical skills were applied to varied scientific challenges. Josh holds an MSci in Physics from The University of Manchester, which included a year abroad at UCLA.
