Jacob Preal

Jacob Preal is an experienced professional in geographic information systems and journalism, currently serving as an Enterprise GIS Specialist at Cloudpoint Geospatial since November 2023. Previously, Jacob worked at the City of Menifee from June 2019 to November 2023 as a Geographic Information Systems Technician, where responsibilities included building web-based GIS applications and resolving data conflicts. Jacob began in the field as a GIS Intern, creating web maps and applications for city use. Prior experience in journalism includes serving as Editor In Chief at the Daily Bruin, where leadership resulted in three Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker Awards. Jacob also held roles as City and Crime Editor and News Reporter at the same publication, focusing on localized news stories. Experience with Temecula Valley News included serving as Weekend News Desk Editor, managing interns, and covering a range of topics. Jacob holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from UCLA, earned in 2020.
