Brian Allison

Brian Allison has a diverse professional background with experience spanning over four decades. Starting with a summer position as a Bus Conductor at East Kent Road Car Company Ltd. in 1978, Brian transitioned into various roles including Assembly Worker at Hornby Hobbies Ltd. and later served in the UK Civil Service. Most notably, Brian worked at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) from 1979 until retirement in 2021, culminating as Head of CCUS R&D and International Engagement Policy. In addition, Brian has been an Associate Lecturer at The Open University since 1991, teaching courses in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and information technology. Brian's contributions to the civil service have been recognized with awards, including the Plain English Campaign's Award for effective communication in government.
