David Wield

David Wield is a Professor of Innovation and Development and Co-Director of the Innogen Institute at The Open University, where they focus on life science innovation, particularly in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. They have held various academic positions, including Research Fellow roles at Aston University and Birkbeck, University of London, and served as an Associate Professor at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane. David has contributed to the field through research on technology transfer in African countries and participated in teaching development planning at the Architectural Association. They earned a BSc in Physics from Imperial College London and a PhD in Materials Technology from the University of London.
