Derek Jones is a Senior Lecturer in Design at The Open University and a member of the OU Design Group. They are currently chairing the course update to U101: Design Thinking, an award-winning entry-level design course. With a PhD in Design Education and extensive experience as a qualified architect, Derek has contributed to various design and digital art initiatives, including leading roles at idc interactive and Keppie Design. Their research focuses on the pedagogy of design, embodied cognition, and design knowledge theories, and they serve as the Convenor of the Design Research Society's Pedagogy special interest group.
