Emilie Rutledge

Emilie Rutledge has an extensive background in economics and academia, beginning with a Bachelor's degree in Economics & Arabic from the School of Oriental and African Studies, U. of London, followed by a Master's degree in Economics with Distinction from Birkbeck, University of London, and a PhD in Economics from Durham University. Rutledge's professional experience includes roles as a Research Scholar at the Bahrain-British Foundation and as an Economic Analyst at HM Treasury. Rutledge has held various positions at The Open University since 2020, including Associate Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Head of the Department of Economics. Additionally, Emilie has served as an Economic Consultant at Gulf Stat and held multiple academic roles at the United Arab Emirates University, including Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. Earlier in the career, Rutledge worked as a Fixed Income Analyst for Investec Asset Management and as an Economist at the Gulf Research Center.
