Jim Iley

Jim Iley is an Emeritus Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at The Open University, where they had a long career as a lecturer and eventually held various leadership roles, including Professor and Head of Department. They served as Executive Director for Science and Education at the Royal Society of Chemistry from 2012 to 2014 and were a board member at SusChem during the same period. Iley is currently a member of the Quality Assurance Committee for the Institute for Apprenticeships, serving until 2025. They earned both a PhD and a BSc in Chemistry from Imperial College London between 1973 and 1979.
