John Zarnecki is an Emeritus Professor of Space Science at The Open University, with over 30 years of experience in leading space research projects, including Cassini/Huygens, Giotto, and the Hubble Space Telescope. Previously, Zarnecki served as a Professor of Space Science at The Open University from 2000 to 2013 and as a Senior Systems Engineer at British Aerospace from 1978 to 1981, where they contributed to the Faint Object Camera for the Hubble Space Telescope. Currently, Zarnecki also holds a part-time professor position at Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics since 2011. Zarnecki earned a PhD in Physics & Astronomy from UCL and a Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
