Karen Potter possesses extensive experience in urban regeneration, environmental planning, and higher education. With a background starting as a Project Officer at Forestry Commission Wales from 2000 to 2002, Potter progressed to serve as an Environmental Planning Officer at Design and Regeneration, Cheshire County Council from 2005 to 2008. Academic contributions were made as a Lecturer in Planning and Environmental Management at the University of Liverpool from 2011 to March 2016, as well as during doctoral studies focused on Flood Risk Management and Spatial Planning at the same institution. Following research fellowship roles at the Open University from March 2016 to February 2019, Potter currently holds multiple positions including Research Fellow within the School of Engineering and Innovation and Associate Lecturer in Environment. Educational qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Neurobiology from the University of Sussex, various advanced degrees from the University of Liverpool, and an MSc in Environmental Management from the University of Sunderland.
