Mychelle Pride

Mychelle Pride is currently the Academic Director for the PVC Students’ Office at The Open University, where they provide strategic leadership in learning and assessment, including the integration of Generative AI in education. With a background as Assistant Director in the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, Mychelle shaped educational policy and led reviews for various higher education institutions. They have also held roles such as Academic Lead for Access Participation & Success and Head of Student Experience at The Open University, where they focused on enhancing student experiences and outcomes for traditionally disadvantaged backgrounds. Mychelle's career includes experience as a Recruitment Consultant and an IT Trainer, alongside significant leadership roles in educational institutions. They are passionate about student co-creation and institutional change, advocating for equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout their work.
