Nick Chatterton

Nick Chatterton is an accomplished chemist and educator with extensive experience in academia and research. Nick served as Associate Editor for RSC Advances at the Royal Society of Chemistry from October 2015 to October 2017. From September 2010 to December 2023, Nick held the position of Associate Lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London, teaching chemistry to students in a level 4 qualification program. Currently, Nick is the Qualification Director and Senior Lecturer at The Open University, where responsibilities include producing and presenting chemistry content for science modules while engaging in nanomaterials research. Previous roles include Postdoctoral Research Fellow at CEA, Teaching Fellow at the University of Sheffield, and Senior Lecturer at London Metropolitan University, where Nick contributed to undergraduate education and supervised BSc, MSc, and PhD projects. Nick's academic background includes a PhD in Organometallic Chemistry from Kings College London, an MSc in Chemistry from Imperial College London, and an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
