Petr Knoth

Petr Knoth is a Professor of Data Science and the Founder and Head of CORE (core.ac.uk), the world’s largest full-text aggregation of open access papers. Currently, Petr leads data science and engineering teams across two organizations and three countries, overseeing over 20 staff members. Since founding CORE in 2011, Petr has garnered significant recognition, having hosted over 22 million full-text research papers and achieved a ranking among the top 5,000 websites globally by user engagement. With extensive experience in research and development, Petr has been involved in over 25 projects, raised over $3 million in funding, and authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, Petr previously worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Mendeley/Elsevier and has a PhD in Information Retrieval and Text-mining from the Knowledge Media Institute at The Open University.
