Qian Kan (阚茜）

Qian Kan is a Senior Lecturer in Chinese, Head of Chinese, and Director of the Online Confucius Institute at The Open University. They have extensive experience in teaching, assessment, and course design of Chinese as a foreign language in both traditional and distance learning environments. Qian holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Lancaster University and a Master's degree in English Language and Literature from the University of International Business and Economics. They are also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and have contributed as a Translater and Presenter for the BBC World Service Trust. Qian's research interests include mobile learning, distance language learning, and the use of ICT in education.
