Lead Systems Engineer at Formation Games

Ryan Moore has a comprehensive work experience in the gaming and technology industry. Ryan started their career in 2013 as a Functionality QA Tester at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, where they gained knowledge in software testing and automation. Ryan then transitioned to a Business Intelligence Developer role, handling ETL and database administration for a BI platform. Ryan also took on the responsibility of owning several OLAP databases and constructing dashboards for game analytics.

In 2016, Ryan joined Direct Line Group as a Data Science Engineer, where they worked with a team to challenge insurance practices using a machine learning platform. Ryan designed architecture for algorithm-agnostic ML deployments and built data pipelines capable of retraining and deploying models.

Ryan then moved to Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2018 as a Senior DevOps Engineer, focusing on game analytics. Ryan collaborated with first-party studios to create standards for video recording and sharing and was involved in transitioning from batch-based analytics to real-time processing of data using AWS.

Following this, Ryan worked at Media Molecule, starting as a DevOps Programmer and eventually becoming a Principal Programmer. Ryan took ownership of AWS infrastructure and implemented server-side features for Dreams, improving observability and alerting systems.

Currently, Ryan is employed at Formation Games as a Lead Systems Engineer since 2023.

Throughout their career, Ryan has demonstrated technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong focus on improving infrastructure and systems.

Ryan Moore attended Sir Thomas Rich's Grammar School from 2002 to 2009, where they pursued A Levels in Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Liverpool from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a degree in Astrophysics, specifically an MPhys.
