Simon Ray

Simon Ray serves as the Head of Economic, Sectoral and Environmental Studies at CMA CGM since January 2024, following a prior role as Senior Strategy Officer and Head of Economic Analysis at the same company. Previous experience includes positions as Senior Economist at Société Générale and Deputy Head of Financial Sector Economic Analysis Division at the French Treasury. Simon has held various internships, including M&A analyst at BNP Paribas and Investment Analyst at FSI. In academia, Simon has contributed as a Lecturer at Université Paris Dauphine-PSL and Aix-Marseille School of Economics, and as a Teaching Assistant at Sciences Po. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Economics from Aix-Marseille Université, where the thesis received an award for the best doctoral dissertation, alongside a Master's degree in Economics and a Master of Science in Finance from EDHEC Business School. Simon is also a member of The Conference Board's Economist and Strategist Council.
