Lucas LaViolet has a diverse work experience, with their most recent position being a Medical Unmet Needs Analytics & Effectiveness Analyst at CMK Select, a consulting firm focused on the life sciences industry. In this role, they deliver program and project management excellence to clients.

Prior to this, Lucas worked as a Research Associate at the Institute for Defense Analyses. During their tenure, they made significant contributions, such as developing scripts and frameworks to support military officials in analyzing COVID-19 data and automating tasks using Python and other tools. Lucas also led the development of various tools and models to predict disease outbreaks and assist military planners. In addition, they worked on projects for NATO, coauthored numerous publications, and presented their research at international conferences.

Before joining the Institute for Defense Analyses, Lucas briefly worked as a Media Library Consultant at The Saylor Foundation. Lucas also pursued their personal interest by hiking the Appalachian Trail as an AT Thru-Hiker in 2012.
