Robbie MacDiarmid

Head of Asia Pacific at CMSPI

Robbie MacDiarmid has a diverse work experience which includes roles in various companies and organizations. Robbie started their career as an Officer Cadet in the British Army in September 2014 and served until July 2016. During their time in the British Army, they held positions such as Junior Under Officer and Senior Under Officer, where they managed the cadet government, organized events, and set training strategies.

In May 2017, Robbie joined CMSPI as a Research Analyst and worked until September 2018. Robbie then moved up to the position of Senior Economist from September 2018 to March 2020. Finally, they became the Head of Asia Pacific in March 2020, a role in which they are currently employed.

In 2019, Robbie also served as a Working Group Member for the Strong Customer Authentication Programme, where they collaborated with various industry stakeholders to implement SCA for card-not-present transactions for e-commerce.

In 2021, Robbie joined the Merchant Advisory Group (MAG) - Asia as an Advisory Board Member, a position they held until April 2023.

Starting from November 2022, Robbie became the Co-Chair of the APAC Community Committee at MRC | Merchant Risk Council.

Overall, Robbie MacDiarmid has gained extensive experience in leadership, research analysis, and industry collaborations throughout their career.

Robbie MacDiarmid has pursued their education at the University of St Andrews, where they completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics. Additionally, they have also studied at the Alliance Manchester Business School, participating in the Future Leaders' Programme focused on Business Administration and Management, General.
