Gene Choo

Gene Choo is an experienced producer with a robust career at NBC News spanning over two decades since 2001. Initially serving as an International News Producer, Gene played a key role in global news coverage for various programs, including the Nightly News and the Today Show. From November 2005 to 2007, Gene took on the position of Acting West Coast Senior Producer, overseeing segments from the Burbank Bureau and coordinating a team of correspondents and camera crews. Prior experience includes positions as Coordinating Producer and Associate Producer, where Gene led operations in Afghanistan and produced investigative segments. The early career began as an intern at CNN, contributing as a researcher and field producer. Gene holds a Master's degree in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree with honors in Political Science, Economics, and East Asian Studies from UC Irvine, along with academic experience at Yonsei University.
