Joanne Li

Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA, serves as the Barbara & Wally Weitz Endowed Chair of Higher Education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha since July 2021, marking a significant role within the University of Nebraska System. Currently, Joanne holds the position of Chancellor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, where Joanne has been a Director of the Omaha Branch since January 2023. In addition to this, Joanne is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Higher Learning Commission and serves on the Executive Committee of the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities. Joanne has established a presence in various advisory roles, including membership on the EFMD Global Network Americas Advisory Board and the CNBC Global Financial Wellness Advisory Council. With extensive board memberships, including with the Omaha Symphony and Opera Omaha, Joanne actively contributes to the cultural landscape of Nebraska. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Finance from Florida State University and multiple leadership training programs from esteemed institutions such as Harvard and Wharton.
