Jan Melen

Jan Melen is the General Manager at Ericsson Software Technology Finland, where they lead the Cloud Unit, focusing on upstream open-source technologies and cloud-native infrastructure. With a career at Ericsson spanning various leadership roles, Jan has significantly contributed to IoT protocols, network architecture, and the development of distributed cloud environments. They serve on the Governing Board of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation and co-founded El-Brix Oy to support growing businesses. A long-time advocate for Free and Open-Source Software, Jan has been managing FreeBSD-based servers for over two decades, fostering a deep understanding of internet service architecture. Jan is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
