Dennis Lyons

Dennis Lyons is the current National Editor at CNHI. Dennis has held this position since November of 2015. Prior to that, they were the editor of The Daily Item in Sunbury and The Danville News, two Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. print and digital news operations in Pennsylvania's Susquehanna Valley. Dennis led The Daily Item to the Newspaper of the Year award among large newspapers in 2017 Best of CNHI contest.

Dennis Lyons has also worked with USA TODAY and Gannett in the past. Dennis was the Managing Editor/Gannett Partnerships with USA TODAY from May 2007 to June 2015. In this position, they worked with all other Gannett properties -- newspapers, digital platforms and television stations -- to develop improved sharing and collaboration of news reporting, photo, video and digital content.

From July 1996 to May 2007, Dennis Lyons was the Executive Editor/The Daily Record for Gannett in Parsippany, N.J. As the top editor, they directed all aspects of the print and digital editorial operation for the Daily Record, a Gannett community 7-day newspaper in Morris County, N.J. Under their leadership, the staff won NJPA General Excellence Awards as the best newspaper in the state (under 60,000 circulation) in 2001 and 2004.

Dennis Lyons began their career in journalism as the Managing Editor/The Journal & Courier for Gannett from October 1992 to June 1994.

Dennis Lyons has a B.A. in Communications and Dennis'story from Fordham University, and an MA in Communications from Fairfield University.
