Alexandra Meeks is an experienced journalist currently serving as the Lead Writer for CNN's flagship newsletter, "5 Things," since February 2015. In this role, Alexandra captures top stories of the day and engages audiences with breaking news and social moments. Previous positions at CNN include News Editor, Assignment Editor for California News, Associate Producer, and Production Assistant, showcasing a comprehensive skill set in news writing, editing, and production. Alexandra also gained experience as a Press Secretary Trainee for the U.S. House of Representatives and as a News Trainee at ABC7 Los Angeles. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Journalism from Loyola Marymount University, enriched by study abroad experience at Université Paris-Sorbonne.
