Andrew Roy is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in international news leadership. Currently serving as Bureau Chief EMEA at CNN since May 2025, Andrew previously held the position of CBS News London Bureau Chief from May 2022 to May 2025. Notably, Andrew spent over eight years at BBC News, culminating in a role as Head of Foreign News, where responsibilities included overseeing international newsgathering and managing several hundred staff members. Additional significant positions at BBC News included Head of the BBC World News Channel and Bureau Chief in Europe and North America, where Andrew covered high-profile events like the Iraq War and 9/11. Andrew's journalism career began at Radio New Zealand, supporting a strong academic foundation with a BA and MA in English Literature from Massey University and the University of Canterbury, respectively.
