Charles Welch

Charles Welch is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in television news production and writing. Since May 2006, Charles has served as a Senior Writer at CNN, where responsibilities include copy editing, mentoring newer writers, and collaborating with producers and copy editors to craft timely news broadcasts. Previous roles at CNN include Package Producer and Writer, with significant contributions to live reports and video selection. Prior to CNN, Charles honed production skills at WSB-TV, WGCL-TV, WZVN-TV, and KGBT-TV, achieving notable successes such as award-winning newscasts and increased ratings. Charles earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from The University of Texas-Pan American.
