Derek Van Dam is a seasoned meteorologist with extensive experience in broadcast meteorology. Currently serving as an on-air anchor and meteorologist for CNN, CNN International, and HLN since September 2014, Derek presents science-related information and feature stories to a global audience. Previously, from March 2008 to July 2014, Derek held the position of Chief Meteorologist and Head of Weather at eNCA and e.TV, managing the strategic direction of the weather department. From January 2005 to February 2008, Derek worked as a Morning Meteorologist at WEYI - NBC25, delivering daily weather bulletins and covering live breaking weather events. Derek holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Meteorology and a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Central Michigan University, completed in 2005.
