Emily Rust

Emily Rust has extensive experience in broadcast journalism, primarily with CNN since October 2001. Currently serving as a Supervising Producer for Special Events, Emily has led field coverage for major national political events and effectively managed newsgathering teams across various departments. Key roles include overseeing the production of the TV Network Pool for the 2016 Democratic National Convention and serving as Planning Editor for the DC Desk, where Emily made editorial decisions and coordinated logistics for coverage. Emily's career also includes positions as Pool Coordinator/Assignment Editor and Assignment Editor/Producer in the DC Desk, as well as freelancing for the International Desk. Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from The University of Georgia.
