John General

John General is an accomplished video producer with extensive experience in digital media, currently serving as a Weekend Digital Video Producer II at CNN since September 2017. John leads a team focused on international newsgathering and collaborates with global bureaus to deliver high-quality, optimized video content for CNN's digital audience. Previous roles at CNN included Video Producer, where John created impactful visual content for personal finance and market news, and Associate Producer, where John enhanced VR/360˚ video offerings. John has also contributed significantly to Emerson Productions as a Senior Freelance Motion Designer, and held multiple production and editing roles at institutions such as The EVVY Awards and Emblematic Group. John holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Cinematography and Film/Video Production from Emerson College.
