Mark Swanson

Mark Swanson is an Emmy Award-winning Director at CNN, where Mark has worked since 1997. Initially hired as a Video Journalist, Swanson rapidly rose through the ranks, achieving positions such as Technical Director, where notable contributions included directing Larry King Live during significant events like September 11th, 2001, and the commencement of the Second Persian Gulf War in 2003. Swanson played a pivotal role as the Senior Technical Director in establishing CNN's SWAT department, overseeing coverage of Atlanta shows and training technical staff. Additionally, Swanson has experience as a freelance Director for Comcast Sports South, where directorial work on various sports programs earned two Emmy nominations. Swanson holds a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications.
