Mary Gilbert is an experienced meteorologist currently serving as an Extreme Weather Writer at CNN since July 2023. Previously, Mary held the position of Meteorologist II at AccuWeather from June 2019 to July 2023, where responsibilities included building global weather forecasts for various media platforms. Prior experience includes a NOAA Hollings Scholarship internship at the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Cleveland, Ohio, from May 2018 to August 2018. Mary also developed foundational skills in meteorology while working as a Student Office Assistant, Research Assistant, Campus Weather Service Lead Forecaster, and Research Fellow during studies at Millersville University of Pennsylvania, where Mary earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in 2019.
