Matthew Philips

Matthew Philips is the Director of Washington Enterprise at CNN, where they oversee enterprise reporting from Washington. They have previously served as an Assistant Managing Editor at CNN and held positions such as Associate Editor at Bloomberg Businessweek and Politics & Policy Editor at Bloomberg News. Matthew also worked as a Senior Reporter at Newsweek and held various writing and editing roles at Richmond.com, New York Magazine, and Freakonomics Media. They hold a Bachelor of Arts in History from Hampden-Sydney College and have furthered their education with a Master of Science from Columbia University and a Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism from Columbia Business School.
