Roland Kelts

Roland Kelts is a distinguished Visiting Professor at Waseda University and a self-employed Author, Journalist, Lecturer, and Consultant since January 2018. Kelts has served as a Writer In Residence at CATWALK INSTITUTE and is a Featured Speaker at TEDxTokyo. Additionally, Kelts holds the position of Visiting Scholar at Keio University, focusing on the globalization of contemporary Japanese media and popular culture. As a Contributing Writer for notable publications such as The New Yorker, Time Magazine, CNN, and The Japan Times, Kelts authors opinion and culture stories about Japan. Kelts also writes a monthly column for The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan's magazine. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree from Columbia University, a Nieman Fellowship from Harvard University, a BA from Oberlin College, and a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia University's School of the Arts.
