Benjamin Amann

Postdoctoral Researcher

Benjamin Amann is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique since April 2021, focusing on the analysis of sedimentation rates and carbon trapping in coastal marshes. Previously, Benjamin held postdoctoral positions at UGent, where research centered on sedimentology and paleoclimatology in Chilean Patagonian fjords, and at Queen's University, examining sea-level history through varved sediments in an Arctic lake. An instructor in climate change at the university level, Benjamin also completed a Ph.D. in Climate Sciences and Physical Geography at the University of Bern, focusing on high-resolution climate reconstructions. With a Master’s in hydrology and a Bachelor's in physics and chemistry, Benjamin's expertise bridges multiple disciplines in environmental research.
