Frédéric Teppe

Research Director

Frédéric Teppe is a physicist specializing in terahertz (THz) spectroscopy and semiconductor physics, currently serving as the Research Director at CNRS and as the Group Leader of the Terahertz Spectroscopy Group. After earning a PhD in Physics from the University of Montpellier in 2003, Frédéric completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute before joining the CNRS in 2005, where they developed a research program at the intersection of condensed matter physics and THz technology. Frédéric co-founded Terakalis and has held several visiting positions internationally, including at Tohoku University and the Institute of High Pressure Physics. Their current research focuses on Dirac materials and low-energy excitations, exploring innovative experimental techniques to advance the understanding of quantum materials and strong light–matter interactions.
