Gerard Bailly is the Directeur de recherches at CNRS and a founding member of the ISCA interest groups on speech synthesis and prosody. They have been instrumental in multimodal communication research, currently leading the CRISSP team at GIPSA-Lab and previously serving as deputy director from 2007 to 2012. Gerard's research spans interactive multimodal systems and augmented speech communication, with a career starting as a scientific associate at INRS in Canada. They earned a Docteur-Ingénieur degree in Signal, Images & Parole at INPG and have a background in electronics and advanced mathematics.
