John Lopez is an accomplished researcher and engineer at CNRS, where they have worked since 2001 at the Centre Laser Intense et Applications in Bordeaux. They earned an engineering degree in Chemistry-Physics from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie et de Physique de Bordeaux and completed a Ph.D. focused on laser ablation in 1997 at the Université de Bordeaux. In addition to their research on laser ablation and micro-machining processes, Lopez has served as an expert for ALPhANOV and has held leadership roles, including president of the Club Laser et Procédés since 2010 and administrator of both the Comité National Optique et Photonique and the Laser Institute of America.
