Laurent Cormier is a senior scientist at CNRS, where they have served as Directeur de recherche since 2013, leading the "PALM - Propriétés des Amorphes, Liquides et Minéraux" team. Prior to this role, they were a Chargé de recherche at CNRS from 1999 to 2013. Laurent also held the position of President of the Centre Ecole Regional de Parachutisme de Maubeuge from 2015 to 2023. They hold a Research Doctorate and an Habilitation à diriger des recherches from Université Pierre et Marie Curie, as well as an MPhil in Physics from the University of Cambridge. Laurent is currently pursuing a Brevet d'état d'éducateur sportif in Parachutisme from the Fédération Française de Parachutisme.
