Mathieu Kociak is a research director at CNRS in Orsay, France, leading the STEM group focused on the correlation between structure and optical properties of individual nanoelectronic objects. Mathieu’s research employs advanced techniques like electron energy-loss spectroscopy and scanning transmission electron microscopy cathodoluminescence. They have been instrumental in transferring STEM-CL technology to the company Attolight and served as the scientific leader of the CHROMATEM project. Mathieu has also directed the French electron microscopy network METSA and is currently in charge of platforms and large instruments at Université Paris-Saclay. Their accolades include the Guinier Prize and the ERC Advanced Grant FreeQCC.
