Michel Coret

Michel Coret is a distinguished academic currently serving as a member elected to the Comité National de la Section 11 du CNRS since June 2025. Coret has held various positions including Professor at Ecole centrale de Nantes since September 2012 and the current Director of the Department of Mechanics, Materials, and Civil Engineering since September 2023. Previous roles include serving as a visiting professor at the University of Southampton from September 2019 to July 2020 and as Maître de conférences at INSA Lyon from October 2002 to August 2012. Coret began an academic career as an ATER at École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay from September 2001 to September 2002. Coret obtained a PhD in Mechanics from École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay (1998-2001) and earned an Agrégation in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution (1992-1997).
