Pascal Roussel obtained a DEA in Material Chemistry from the Université de Caen Basse Normandie in 1994 and completed a doctorate in Solid Chemistry there in 1999. Following a postdoctoral position at the Institut fur Kristallographie in Aachen, they joined the CNRS in 2000 as a Chargé de recherches. Pascal was promoted to Directeur de recherches in 2012 and currently serves as the deputy director of the UCCS laboratory and the Chevreul federation. With expertise in structure-property relationships in materials, they focus on energy-related materials and have co-supervised 22 theses, authored over 355 publications, and contributed to numerous international conferences.
