Smitkriti is currently a Doctoral Researcher at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique since December 2022, managing a research project focused on hydrogen storage via Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHCs), which involves catalyst design, synthesis, and performance testing, while collaborating with a cross-functional team of chemists and engineers. Previously, Smitkriti served as a Master's Thesis Candidate at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi from May 2021 to May 2022, working under Professor Kuntal Manna on heterogeneous catalysis, metal-organic frameworks, C-H activation, and the conversion of methane to methanol. Smitkriti has also completed a summer internship at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi under the supervision of another professor. Smitkriti holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, a Master's degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi.
