Derrick Shields is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as a Senior Reservoir Engineer and Asset Manager at CNX since June 2017, Derrick has held various roles including Asset Development Engineer and Facilities Foreman, overseeing upstream production facilities and field operations. Prior experience includes a research assistantship at Penn State University where Derrick investigated polymers for hydraulic fracturing, and internships in process engineering and completions engineering at Armstrong World Industries and Chesapeake Energy, respectively. Derrick is a co-founder of the PSU Energy Marketing Association and previously held the position of President for the Society of Petroleum Engineers Penn State Chapter, which received the Outstanding Student Chapter award under Derrick's leadership. Derrick holds a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Graduate Certificate in Data Science from Penn State University and Indiana University Bloomington, respectively, along with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and a minor in Energy Business and Finance from Penn State University.
